Donald C. MacKenzie
281 Main Street
Building and repairing musical instruments on Cape Cod since the early 1960s.
During the 1970s, William Salchow taught MacKenzie the traditional French approach to bow making and bow rehairing.
In the early 1980s, Marten Cornelissen began sharing his principles of violin acoustics with MacKenzie.
The instruments and bows from MacKenzie's workshop were not numbered during the first two decades.
Since the numbered series was established, over three-hundred-sixty violin, viola, cello, or bass bows have been made. The catalog of numbered violins, violas, cellos and double basses now exceeds one hundred fifteen.
